Default Advice on exhaust wrapp

Is it a good idea JUST to wrapp the exhaust downpipe up in exhaust wrapp? Could this cause any problems for the turbo or manifold ?

Dont want to wrapp the manifold up as its cracked

My aim is to protect my heatsheild abit and to stop the greese drying up in the front propshaft from the heat off the exhaust
