I have to agree with the majority. I don't like it this way, i prefer it all in one room. As already said, we HAVE lost the community feeling!!! 
and that is what makes this place great IMO 
I don't think Stu was keen on the idea of splitting the room up to begin with, but we have to give it a try as it's been requested. Just trying to keep everyone happy i guess
Just bear with it for a week and see how things pan out

what i dont get is alot of the stuff posted in general discussion was something
to do with cars to name a couple painting a garage is to do with cars because
you put your car in there another one is pc car game which again is to do with cars as its a car game lol

IMHO I think its a good thing that the site moves so fast - this is the only forum that I really get involved with because there are so many people in the one room and replying so quick, because you catch the widest audience and get the best knowledge and experience back.
Can't people 'bump' their post if it drops off the end of the page? Or can the pages not be longer?
Maybe the more technical things should be posted in the relevant rooms - but how do you make people do that, enless you have a mod sat doing it all day

Don't think anyone is diss'in stu and pet for their hard work - just a thoughts and ideas to try and help. "View new posts" works ok but no preview box like the main forum pages when you hover over the topic.

Absolutely completely bog standard typical knee jerk reaction to change, its absolutely textbook stuff
The one room was getting to the stage where it was just far too busy and interesting posts were getting lost in all the chat, its ok if you are on here all the time, but if you go away for the weekend and come back its an absolute nightmare to try and find the important technical questions worth answering in amongst the chat.
Im sure Stu probably found this the same as i did as he is another regular technical contributor, if ALL you use PF for is 99% the social side then having it all lumped into one is probably a benefit but if you actually want to learn and talk about cars then being able to find the car related posts more easily is a great benefit.
Thats my 2p anyway

The 2 forum tier works perfectly well on other large forums like Scoobynet, MLR, GT-R, SEAT.net, Pistonheads - you don't find people whingeing about it on those forums.

The thing is is might -not- work, you just have to give it a chance. And if you don't like it then some constructive critisism as to why.
I suggest those finding it awkward download FireFox if they don't already have it. Then you can just open the two rooms into tabs. I browse about 6 forums a day regulary without probs.
You can even set FireFox up so both rooms are bookmarked and you can open them in seperate tabs in one click.

When you meet your buddy yeh car banter does come up but its mixed in with other convo,i think people are just saying that they liked the mix cos thats how it is in RL
