Not going to continue this discussion any longer, as there's no point arguing with all knowing sensible young fellows like these.

this is just a thought as probably a mile away from even making sense let alone be a possible reason. but here we go anyway.
do frst have pre pumps in the tanks?
a guy at work just mentioned the people often forget about them. and if that was to go dead not only is the main pump doing all the work its self but it is pulling the fuel from the tank, through a dead pump which will put more strain on it.
the mechanic that mentioned that said that (he's been out of the trade quite a while now so appologies if things have changed since his experience) it can cause hesatation and other problems.
i know the car in mention has be hesistant in the past.

B19bal,
What a read, & cut throat buisness, it could just be a coincidence the engine let go after coming from the tune up, before posting this topic
i would of done a comp test, and at least removed the head as it would not take long and gain more information,
Then move on to the fuel train ie pump pressure & delivery check,
inc voltage to pump, all these are simple to check providing you have the
technical info to compare the tests, i appreciate you may not have the kit
to flow check the injectors, as you probably know could cause the engine cylinders to run weak, all these test would give you more information
to your claim of thoughts of believing the car ran to week and has melted a piston, after all the post and friction on this topic with scc performance
it could be embarrassing to find it is just a headgasket or turbo even both,
but if it turns out to be a fuel pressure problem causing the engine to fail
then as said could be a coincidence, as i would of thought with a AFR check on boost it would of shown up and be reported to the customer.
i would be keen to check all the above especially if the pump and wiring
is to be used with the new engine. time to do something instead of typing.

Why didn't you go to trading standards then? Possibly because you didn't have a leg to stand on as you are only remembering what you want not what actually was going on?

You were not there oranoco,
i was so pished off bout it i did think bout it and i would have got some where, but why make two peoples life sh!t im not one to bad mouth anyone and i havent in any of my posts (i hope)
i have also not said anything on this forum about it till now cuz i didnt see any point
I have told it as it is 100% and am disspointed rob and Pon with there false comments about the situation.
i dont know why there are saying things happened in a different way which is detremental to me. Obviously when some one 'attacks' people take a defensive stance.
i have my views about SCC, others have a different view and will continue using there services.

just finding my feet
fuck me theres some attitude on here at times
NOW BEFORE I STATE WHAT THE RESULT IS I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I DONT THINK ITS DUE TO SCC THAT THI HAPPENED<<< SERIOUSLY TOO FOR ANTHER REASON<<<<<<<< I COULD CLAIM IT WAS THEM BUT I DONT THINK ITS FAIR DUE TO 1 THING I NOTICED !!!!!!!
oh and sorry i havent been on top reply all week but we have been busy finishing a engine i started a while ago for my own car that im loaning to Si untill he gets his car done,,,,,,, also that i do attempt to have a life at some times but i will try not to get it to interfere with the postings on passionford in future
anyway result is that number 3 and 4 have melted,,,,,, number 3 around the side slightly and number for round the side too,,,, there are other issues we noticed to that makes it NOT SCC's fault as they would never have guessed this unless they had xray vision and the engine would have failed in the near future ANYWAY so not there fault as its the fuel pump IS worn and they DONT check it as part of a set up UNLESS they have a reason to and from what i seen steveB wrote there was no way of telling
got no piccys though as i cant find me camera and the engines almost back together,,,,,,,,, just a few other things to do this weekend and should be done tommorow
the water gallys between the head andthe block seemed to be all blocked up TOTALLY ,,,,, aint got a clue why thats happened but that would explain why the rad sprung a leak i guess
anyway the bottom end has new ( well they aint from that engine ) and ive TOTALLY rebuilt a head and engine aswell as moded a few things as this was ment for my engine so things like machined bowls in the pistons and modded ANOTHER mfi engine to take EFI
but the result is its NOT SCC's fault,,,,,,,,, as for them checking the fuel pump is just a thought but then its the same as saying " could you take the engine apart and test the rods just incase they spin a shell or bend ect
so after thinking about and im ashamed to admit that i DO need to applogise to rob and the SCC lot,,,,, its only fair as there was another issue that could have been alot worse
but the new engine should be interesting,,,,,, if that fails then its gonna any but if it works i expect it to have MORE power than the last engine did,,,,,and that was resonable enoguh to keep the 2cv and micra lot something top worry about
wish i could find me camera cause then you could see the TVR con rods and volvo S80 1.8T pistons machined to fit the cvh head from a 1.4 with machined oval shape valves,,,,,, sounds interesting dont it
how long you give this one
btw a group A fuel pump needed too if anyones got one

Testing the future
just by coincidence, i found this when looking for a headgasket price

POINTLESS JOB OF THE MONTH
A customer informed us, after we chipped his RS Turbo S1 "Oh yes, there was a small leak in the rad, but I chucked in some Radweld". Pity he didnt change the radiator first, as he needed 2 pistons, head gasket and bolts (due to head removal), oil, filter, sump gasket, radiator and an understanding wife!

but read there OTHER advice sections too,,,,,, like 10/60 oil due to 10/40 giving lower oil presures
remember the 1 sided points there making,,,,,,,,, this engine never had a leaky rad untill last friday and at that point NO rad weld was usd hence it was still leaking
but radweld worked FINE in my mates old engine aswell as liquid metal to seal the leaks due to the engine mount ripping and piercing the rad ,,,,,,,, a few times
