basically I got a set of clocks out of an old xr3 and someone I know has a set for sale and says they're rare also his are slightly different to mine! On mine the rev counter reads 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 his goes 10 20 30 40 50 60 70

stevo123 22-01-2014 08:12 PM

Had plenty of Mk3's. All had single figures for rev counter for sure.

Glenn_ 22-01-2014 08:41 PM

The old XR3i.s I had went 1 to 7 on the rev counter.

doga-ot 22-01-2014 08:50 PM

we're talking mk3 XR3's Glenn not the mk3 xr3i

EoinXR3 22-01-2014 08:58 PM

doga-ot 22-01-2014 09:03 PM

Steve Escos 22-01-2014 09:11 PM

rallycross 22-01-2014 09:14 PM

EoinXR3 22-01-2014 09:28 PM

doga-ot 22-01-2014 09:33 PM

GVK. 22-01-2014 09:40 PM

Are his an mph speedo or km/h?

doga-ot 22-01-2014 09:43 PM

mph they are identical to mine but the rev counter on the left was 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 not like mine in single numbers

doga-ot 22-01-2014 09:44 PM

what are my clocks worth

dangerousbrian 22-01-2014 09:46 PM

dont know f it helps or throws a spanner in the works but my c plate s1 has 1-7 and also my mates a and y plate rsi's. cant say ive ever seen 10-70 on any clocks. value wise i sold a set last year on ebay that went for £20. wind them on to 00000 and see if someone falls for it thinking they are worth more!

Nor me bud I took mine out of my old mk3 xr3 (early carb version) he showed me his and said they were out of a standard xr3 and were worth £60 had 23,000 on clock but when I noticed the rev counter couldn't work it out as my old car was unmolested got it off an old man!

Glenn_ 23-01-2014 05:22 AM

Sorry lol.

Get a pic of his clocks matey.

Scan through ebay at mk3 escortd and see if you can find any cars for sale that have pics of the clocks showing the mileage then you might be able to see the rev counter too.

Did that bud found sweat f a

all early xr3's had the 10 20 30 rev counter as opposed to 1 2 3 etc, w reg and x plate up to around april 82, they were changed when the 5 speed box became standard so in a nutshell they're 4 speed xr3 or ghia clocks

I've had two xreg xr3's and neither had 10 20 30 rev counters

1981 XR3 rev counter on other side to above pics?

doga-ot 02-02-2014 09:07 PM

As above had x reg and w reg both were also 4speed with 4 leaf clovers

doga-ot 02-02-2014 09:08 PM

And when i said rev counter was different it was still in same place on the left

Dave@dmc 03-02-2014 01:34 PM

Depends when they were registered, x plate would have been half and half, all w reg ones had the earlier type clock's with the 10 20 30 etc, if the rev counter is on the wrong side they're lhd clocks or the car was imported from new, the different clocks were the second revision on the xr3 when the 5 speed box was introduced early 82

they would be 1982 registered cars probably with the 5 speed gearbox, x reg ran from aug 81 to july 82 with the revision being early 82
