Rust, electrical issues, bland looks and simply not being quick enough was what made them unpopular. Even in the rare 130PS trim they were limp (probably due to making nearer 115-120bhp than the 130 claimed).

Before I bought it mine was stored for 5 years and like new the only thing I don't like is I has a wood effect dash
