they are not a ugly car at all, they are simply well known for severe rust and electrical faults

Rust, electrical issues, bland looks and simply not being quick enough was what made them unpopular. Even in the rare 130PS trim they were limp (probably due to making nearer 115-120bhp than the 130 claimed).

Before I bought it mine was stored for 5 years and like new the only thing I don't like is I has a wood effect dash
