A bit of help figuring out front discs and pads
Short version: I'm trying to figure out which spec front discs and pads I should order to replace OEM Cosworth 2wd stuff on my XR4TI. How do I know what to order?
Long version: I saved a couple of abandoned XR4TI projects here in Florida (USA) and am working on getting one of them back on the road. The previous owner said the front discs were Cosworth 2wd (with OEM 4 pot calipers), but he couldn't give me any more specifics. Since we never got the Cossies over here, information and knowledge on these sorts of things isn't readily accessible, and I'm confused by all the different model year cutoffs and part numbers listed for different discs and pads. What I do know is that the discs are 283mm in diameter, and I verified the calipers do indeed appear to be OEM 4 pots. How do I know what to order? What specs should I look for on the discs? What pads fit the calipers? Are there significant differences between different model years?
Any help much appreciated. Cheers.

You should just get the discs and pads for a 2wd Cosworth. The 2wd Sapphire (4 door) and Sierra (3 door) Cosworth both use the same discs and calipers. They were produced from 1986 to 1990. The Cosworth 4x4 was introduced in 1990 and uses different discs and calipers than the 2wd.
I also like the Ferodo DS2500 pads for fast use. But for normal use I would get standard pads.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
National discs and DS2500 pads . I had standard bosch pads on the car originally but brake fad was a major issue. You cannot go wrong with the DS2500 Pads never had any problems.

Thanks for the input. I was able to source the Ferodo DS2500 pads here in the US. Apparently they fit a number of applications, including some stuff that came to the states. As for discs, I just couldn't swing the cost of the Nationals, especially with shipping. Total would've been over $300usd, so like 236gbp. Besides, I didn't really want the rotors dimpled/drilled or grooved, so I ordered standard discs from Graham Goode for A LOT less.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
