i think its the breather cause in 5th at 30mph its like a steam train out the bonnet vent from the breather
200miles Varys between 250-500ml of oil!

Cosworth engines seem to vary when it comes to oil consumption, is that with hard driving and is the engine standard? Unless you intend to do all the work on it yourself I would advise getting it booked in for a rolling road set up and check over.

if you hammer it, it drinks, if you stick it in 5th at 30mph and put your foot down with loads of lag it blows out the breather
ultimately though conpressure all consistent on each cyclinder, no leakage, turbo blades are 0.4m between casing and absolutely no oil at all in exhaust!
underneath there is a fair amount of road grime where oil has stuck to the car!
im debating changing gaskets but reading everyones posts on here appears normal!

it seems to use the least (though havent really run it enough to be accurate assumption) when you drive it just as turbo is kicking in

yes uses a lot of oil, its 350hp, there is a puff on changing gear but unsure if blue or black but more than likely unburnt fuel as I say there isnt a drop of oil in the exhaust its bone dry
the most amount of oil I see coming from anywhere is the breather, the swirl pot isnt really a swirl pot in my opinion its a t shape that blows directly across to the exit, I would have thought it should blow in further down to allow the oil to condense and return
i think it breathes too much oil out cause there is no evidence of oil in exhaust or post turbo at all

yeah see yours double backs on itself which would allow the oil to condense mine goes one side to the other and I suspect straight out

Mine used to use oil like yours. I fixed it by upgrading to a freshly built 200 block, with a new turbo and reconditioned the head.
to be fair it was the head (valve guides) and worn turbo that were the main issues. Now it barely uses any oil.

All cossies from factory will use oil. Only ones that don't have been built to a higher tolerance.
Ford state for every thousand miles it's a pint of oil possibly more if given a hard time. This remember is with 204bhp.....So then you ask the engine to do 300+ bhp yet still not to use oil..?
Mine uses a bit being a 95k engine.
For you I would get James to do a full check over and do your cambelt and get all the niggles sorted in one hit.
