Default Facelift dash

Can anyone help me out? the hood part of the dash has come away from the main part by the twin vents in the centre. What actually breaks on these? some sort of clip arrangement by the looks of it

Cheers

The "hood" part of it seems to have come away from the main dash by the vents in the centre, seems as if it wants to clip into something

This is the hood part of the dash

This is the problem area

This is whats protruding from the dash and looking at it there seems to be some sort of metal clip in the dash

there is a hole there, the plastic bit that's snapped off is straight as in this picture

the metal tab that it clips into is a 3 pronged affair and when you've fixed this bit unscrew it from the inner dash and fit it to this bit, then fit the whole thing back in again

Hi Dojj thanks for the reply, before I strip it down I'll need to remove the centre vents to re-attach the clip? I'll repair the dash or if not find a good second hand one

I did it without using a small bit and a ratchet spanner

It was a LONG time ago mate, I drilled a few holes all around the area and then used lashing of fibreglass and gunk to make the fixing much bigger
Then I started to sand it down until it was the same sort of size

After considering buying another second hand part I drew up and made a plastic clip which I glued to the inside of the dash to replicate the original feature. Started fitting it all back tonight and it works a treat, should be stronger than the original design too
