Default Hub splines very tight

I’m rebuilding the rear hubs and mate the two splines on inner and outer hub
The splines go about half way down and it gets very tight
Almost like it’s tapered
Is this normal it don’t seem right
Pic of hub I’m on about
Thanks

Hi , as Marc has already stated ,I don't believe they are tapered. I know that mine also needed a a gentle tap to separate along with a binding halfway down there mating travel.

Best.

Tim.

How did you get them back on
Did the binding you had actually stop them from sliding fully home
It looks like they will need a lot of force

Hi mate
Yep there spotless
I’m sure they will go fully home but with slot of force
They were difficult to get off tbh
Had to hit with s copper mallet to shift
It’s the same both sides

240 what F or C ? 240f would be fine, make sure you baste it every 5 mins and add some ground black pepper to taste and some potatoes

Make sure your wife is not in, better still use your neighbour's oven. You could simply just sit it in a pan of boiling water

Remind me never to pop round for dinner nothing worse than a host who puts his bell in the dishwasher

Mind you it does depend if your dishwasher is a hotpoint or a Heather
