Default Fuel fail to Regulator hose

Does Anyone know the type/name of the special type of hose for the fuel rail to regulator, no longer available from Ford I can remember it used to be quite expensive the last time I purchased one.

Photo from google

Tosh is just 8mm high pressure injection fuel.pipe.
make sure you use proper fuel pipe clips.

The original hasn’t got an external nylon braid, the outside layer is spirally wrapped like they do with silicone and hydraulic hoses.

If found plenty online but not in -5 which is 8mm 5/16

I think that is the same as used on the fuel return mate which only needs to be low pressure anyway. Cheers

It's exactly the same as the 30 year old piece I removed when I rebuilt the engine
hasn't been replaced during the 28 years of my ownership of the car

Be sure to use high pressure hose or you will end up making a insurance claim.
This is why Ford changed to the 4x4 rail.

This pipe has caused many cosworth 2wd fires.....

A 044 Bosch produces 10 bar and is then regulated to 3.5bar at the reg.

Mine is exactly the same as the photo above! I have owned the car since 1990 and have changed that piece of hose twice with the Ford genuine part, so I’m presuming that it is the original type as said my return was the same as you suggested.

Exactly that Paul I’ve heard plenty of people saying that is the main culprit for fire hence why I want to source the best I can find.

Gates do something called Barricade which seems to be perfect but I can’t seem to find information on whether it is suitable for hose clips, so will look into that when I get time.

Thanks for the kind gesture Paul, but I’m a long way off needing it so have plenty of time to source parts etc and I probably won’t be able to start putting it back together for another couple of months.

This is a serviceable part, I recently changed mine for the second time. I used appropriately rated Gates hose.

In the past I used some suitable hose I had, this time I went to MSD out of curiosity and they supplied the same thing (Gates) fuel hose.

Do Not use jubilee clips as they dig into the pipe. What you need is mini hose clips. I will try to post a.link for them.

I had mine off Paul, clips and the correct fuel hose.My reg didn't have any screws in the base bracket, it was a bit on the loose side shall we say, very dangerous.

Thanks. Lee.

Sorry for late reply

I’ve got sorted now but thanks again for the kind gesture Paul, not many people willing to go the extra mile these days. Very helpful as usual
