Default Saph cosworth 4x4 clutch cable

Hi people.

What is the correct routing/fitting of the clutch cable. At the mo mine comes through the bulk head then it goes down to the steering rack and is secured to the rack then it goes round the engine and to the box.

How were they routed from standard??

Mine (2WD) isn't fixed to the rack.

I fitted a replacement and the aftermarket ones have a 'protective' sleeve, this was between the sump and the cross member and it chaffed through the metal PS pipe.

I since repositioned the sleeve.

Thanks for that. I wonder of 4x4s are the same. There's a gap between the sump and the cross member/sub frame.

Hi Glenn

Cant easily get under to take any photos (tried holding the camera under car and randomly taking photo) but mine comes through the firewall, feeds down between the brake master cylinder and the turbo heat shield, then does a big loop forward where it is zip tied in two places to the cross pipe under the radiator fans (think it may be a heater pipe or something but it is well forward of the steering rack) It then passes inside the engine mount and straight to the hole through the bell housing. I am wondering if yours is a shorter cable (2wd???) as I don't think I would be able to get mine to loop around and attach to the steering rack.

the 4wd version is about 9 foot long mate, it comes out, goes all the wy to the front of the car and then around back underneath again

it's to avoid the heat from the turbo buckling the metal sheathing and collapsing the cable cover

not sure about exactly where the routing goes, but it's that long to avoid the kinks
