Default front suspension turret dimensions

Hello need someone to do me a favour please. can someone measure the distance between the two front suspension turrets on there sierra please. as I have bought an omp strut brace and it is wider than the turrets on my sierra floorpan! just need a measurement from edge to edge please

measured this for you this morning mate,with the strut brace and heat sheild in the way i recon its 860mm,hope that help a bit

Is that centre to centre or edge to edge ? And just to confirm what cosworth do you have ? Saph etc ? That measures the same as mine tho and strut brace measures 890mm bolt to bolt "where it bolts to the bracket" what strut brace are you running, any pictures ? Thanks for your help mate

Just an idea unless you have done so already. Raise the front of the car in the middle on the engine/rack cradle and see if the turrets open up a little then that would aid in getting the strut brace on??????? Might be wrong.

I can try that. But it's so far out that I don't think thatwill work. Are all sierra shells the same I. This department ?

luke I measured to the inside of the turrent,i have a 3dr cosworth with the below brace.

you could always cut the brace and weld a nut on each piece then add a piece of threaded bar in the middle??itll need repainted but it can be made to fit

Well yea that will be my option. But when you buy one for a sierra cosworth it should fit a sierra cosworth! Lol. I want the brace you have that is a graham Goode one I belive ? Can't find one anywhere

i k ow what you mean mate,nowts ever easy with when modding cars,ive had that brace for years think i won it for 38 quid.

If I can't find one then I will be buying it. I got my friend to measure his saph. And he has a measurement of 860mm also. This brace must be made wrong?

might sound daft but my brace only fits on one way,have you tried spinning it around?

Yep tried tht. It is just too wide. It measures 890mm bolt to bolt. And iv had 3 measurements. 4 including mine of 860mm

I think that imp have bagged a bunch of them wrong. Thanks for your help mate. If you see a brace like yours come up forsale let me know please would appreciate it! Maybe I will find one at classic ford if not.
