Default Strange wiring issue on my sapph

Nearing the end of my build and the only thing stopping me is this,

If I connect the rear lights the car starts in ignition 2 without cranking, the starter stays engaged.
If I disconnect the rear lights the ignition is normal but will start and run if I put in an indicator bulb, either side.
Wiring seems normal, cleaned connector and earth, disconnected indicator stork makes no difference.
If connected the lights all work as they should but before cleaning the earth the rear fog was on with the side lights.

Something very wrong there and it could be a bad ground.

Electricity will always take the path of least resistance, hence the problem you had until you made a good earth connection.

I would verify all the earths first, has it been painted at all?

Fixed it, found a relay that shouldn't have been there that was causing the starting issue on ignition 2, after a full rework of the rear lights by cutting the crap ford connectors off and using spades it's done, the earths were not connecting or if they did intermittent but now all is well and ready for MOT
