Default 2.0 OHC (Pinto) MAF sensor difference ('91 N4B low MPG issue)

Hi,

I'd like to get some information on MAF sensors for the 2L OHC "Pinto" engine . I have an issue with my '91 Sierra, she drinks a bit more than normal since I've had her. I've already replaced/checked O2 sensor, MAP sensor, cleaned injectors. No fuel leak. Exhaust smells a bit like gas. (N4B with O2, MAP, and catalytic converter)

A guy with a fair amount of experience with Sierras told me, that the earlier Pintos used a different MAF than later ones that had an O2 sensor (N4B, the one I have). Both MAF sensors look the same but maybe calibrated differently (?). Not sure about part numbers.

Is it true? Is it possible that I have low gas mileage, because my MAF was replaced before, and it got one from an earlier model? If so, could anyone help me with the part number for the newer one?

Thanks in advance, cheers!
