Default Oil sitting on the head under cam cover (Sapp)

Hi Fella's,
So i take the cam cover off (89 2wd Sapp) and i see oil sitting in the middle wells where the spark plugs go. Not in the spark plug wells but in the surrounding 4 areas of each plug.
Hope that makes sense.
Not too much, but enough to mop up.
The oil was only sitting in the 4, 3 and 2 well areas.

Is this normal?
Should have took a pic eh.

Cheers

Thanks Fella's.
It looked very compressed.

Only last night (your this morning ) I replaced the gasket with a new cometics one. I made sure the head was nice and smooth before replacing the gasket and I used some blue hilamar sealant just where the half moons meet the gasket. Re-installed a freshly painted cam cover and bolted it down with new bolts. Its looking alot cleaner now.

Thanks again Fella's.
