Default Dohc idle problem

Hi,

I recenctly bought ik sierra 2.0i dohc With a broken head gasket.
I have rebuild the head, changed the timing chain en put the engine back together.

The problem is that it idle's at 1500rpm hot and cold. At constant speed it stutters, when i fully accelerate it runs fine and pulls good.

I have disconnected the idle speed control valve but it makes no difference. Alsof cleaned it out and tried aan different one.

You need to do a full reset of the idle gubbins, including the tps and idle screws

Assuming you timed the chain correctly

The chain is fitted correct.

There is no idle screw on a 2.0i.

How do i reset the tps and idle gubbins?

Gonna check for any vacuüm leaks tonight.

They do have an idle screw, that's why you need to adjust it

Think it's an 8mm with a flat adjustment screw on the throttle housing you need to slacken off first

Then you need to slacken off the two tps screws a little so that it's naturally adjusted

This will drop the idle and then it's all good from there

If it's an air leak most likely to be the pipe from the crank case breather around the back of the engine or the actual breather under the exhaust manifold

sorted it out a while back, inlet manifold did not seal properly and is now sanded flat, also the crank case breather was leaky. Al sorted now, she spins like a kitten.
