sounds about right-looks a really nice example-how many owners? does it have the original history book,is it a one key does all car-has it had welding etc, original wings/quarters-number ok on floor...still got a 200 series block-all those are important too...although they have went up in price they still need to be "right" to command decent cash:king:

8 owners, but am sure blue car, shouldn't come back as grey? on hpi

Looks really clean for the miles and he's right about it being the last of the saphs in smokestone.
Worth a look, not sure about the logbook but as long as the numbers match, the service history and mots are there that's good enough for me.
Def worth a look.

That looks lovely TBH and very refreshing to not see one advertised at 20k plus

Defo worth a look

My moonstone was grey on the logbook and had never been grey, get a proper hpi done on it or have it checked over, 12k might be on the lower end but still a shit load to spend on a car with a past like the cosworth.

I'd be more worried about the temp guage, claims its standard but has 2wd steering wheel, also looks like its had a strut brace, nice car though with a nice interior except hooded dash which is dreadful.

there like buses now, this one just turned up on eBay, doesn't look like its had shady past.
think would look better with original alloys

I've seen this for sale a few times now - first time was about 2 years ago and was a dealer in Newcastle area but after a chat on the phone decided it wasn't for me...think the mileage was a little high for me.

Spied it on Gumtree a few months ago at about £9k I think? It mentioned needing a few bodywork repairs, mainly the rear arches were bubbling and needed a few patches underneath. Maybe this seller has bought it and tidied it up but would advise going over with a fine tooth comb and checking mot history.

Please let us know how you get on if you decide to view!

Which one you talking about bud,, blue one or black one?

Smokestone blue one mate! Black one looks well!

Smokestone can show up as grey, black or blue on the V5, all depends on what the dealer declared it as when registering it. I've had all three, across five different cars. It is usually called grey though for some reason.

Easiest way to check if it's a genuine smokestone is to check the colour code on vin & chassis plates.

Code is M1 or M2 on VIN and it should say smokestone on the colour plate
