Default My first cossie

Well bought it last weekend. Pretty tidy running decent power. Putting some softlines on next weekend with some proxes as it's running standard rims with terrible Chinese things on the back!

Need to sort suspension at front too as it's got about 10mm ground clearance lol

It's running t34 and bd10 cams so goes ok.

Has a few issues I need to get sorted. Exhaust is knocking.
I have a clunk when I pull away in 1st from back right and a whirring noise back right. Sounds like bushes and maybe a wheel bearing. Car has barely done any miles recently and has full history which is nice just to sort gremlins out if you have any ideas .

Mines the white one. Hi all

Nice looking car, it is very odd when people put cheap tyres on a performance car...mine had Nankangs on the back and used to spin up all the time

Seen this on eBay I fell in love it just sat perfect, love a white saff on ambers. The only thing I noticed on the eBay add was there was a dodgy looking repair in the spare wheel well was this maybe just the picture?

It could be I'm getting up on ramp next weekend to have a good look maybe something I should of done before hand lol but I noticed boot doesn't quite sit right. Not to fussed. Needs a full going over and all the joints etc checking as it was sat a fair while. Then new year I'll get it book it at msd to be setup properly. Before the weather breaks.

I dont understand why people do that either.!!
Mine had autogrip tyres on the rear when I bought it, slightest bit of damp and it would step out just going in a straight line. Running yokohama pradas now and couldn't be anymore different.

My dad's old car! The chap you bought it from on eBay got it from us. It was close to being stripped for a mk2 Escort project when my old man bought it.

Certainly went well, and a lot of good bits on her. Here she is with my Saff and my bro's S2

Passed MOT straight through yesterday.
All bushes etc sound.

Exhuast is brand new but knocking on gearbox so mate has a straight through system hes taking off in a few weeks ill change to. (i like a bit more noise!)

Plans for saturday.

fit springs from mike at r and b.

Change diff oil.

Change oil filter as it has tiny leak from it (and wipe underneath down).

Fit sofltines with proxes

realign front bumper and thats about it.

Once exhaust is changed will book it in with MSD to full service again and make sure its all running ok

Future plans are coilovers (open to suggestions on coilovers, i had BC which i loved on my focus rs (do they do some of the 2wd saph?), AP 6 pots and AP 6 paddle clutch change (not sure how much life is left in the current clutch lol).

Power wise i think once set up properly ill see how I get on with its. Its not the fastest car I have ever had but ive never driven anything close to 400bhp with no computers saving my ass . I have been in the one pictures above which is 480 but unsure of what i would need to do to get round about that power (seems a good amount to aim for in the future and when im a better driver.)

I plan on 3 track days next year. including one nurburgring trip, this wont be fast just to experience it for the first time. So hopefully it will be fully setup before spring last year.

Sounds good mate, coilover suggestions well I've got gaz golds and have been in 3 other cars that have had them and they are perfect for road use. You can spec the springs for your needs. I paid Ł860 through Corby motorsport which is cheaper than gaz direct.

Then if you've got a better budget there's black art design which I think are Ł1500?? But I've no experience of these.

Not seen bc's for cossies mate

i did have a look at gaz golds so good to hear someone who has had some first hand experience. ye saw some around that price on ebay but ill shop about so ill keep corby in mind.

i found the ap 6 pots for 1800ish and ap 6 paddle clutch for around Ł400 i think. Car luckily doesnt need to much after having a good look over it at the MOT yesterday. have a full polybush set coming tomorrow but the bushes are ok from what i saw. probably still worth getting them changed before i do a few track outings though.

I had AP4 pots 330mm with good pads and they where spot on and the kit is under 1400 from Reyland, 6 pots seem over kill in my opinion.

Do softlines offer decent brake clearance for 6 pots? Being just over 1200kg means 4 pots will be more than adequate but big brakes look awesome

Seen the seller of yours has advertised a minter of a moonstone 2wd? Nice little collection.

6 pots or 4 pots by itself doesn't say much, what's most important is the disc size. In most cases the AP 4 pots use 330 mm discs and AP 6 pots use 362 mm discs.

As far as I know the biggest softlines are 17" and I don't think they really give much clearance. So I doubt the 6 pots will fit. In fact I'm not even sure the 4 pots will fit, as the calipers might touch the wheel spokes. Although on a 2wd that is less of a problem than on a 4x4.

Gorgeous cossie aswell, noticed your on parada spec 2's I've got them on mine bloody hate them im taking them off. Since fitting them I've got less traction in first gear in the dry than I had with khumos (sp) and there's zero grip in the wet lol. I'm for rainsport 3's they are awesome.
