Default 4x4 Front inner CV Joints

Does anyone know if it is normal to have a little up/down left/right play in the inner CV joint on a 4x4. Im rebuilding mine at the minute and i have the engine and front diff on an engine stand. ive stripped the front driveshafts to replace the CV boots.

i have pushed the innver CV pots into the diff just stop muck getting into the diff and i noticed i can move the joint around in the diff. ill try and get a video up but just wondered if a small amount of play is normal, or should the be solid??

The side bevel gear supports the CV. A small amount of play is unavoidable.
