Default 7bar of fuel pressure

Hi, my car is in a garage getting work done to it, the mechanic has said the engine will only run OK if he sets the fuel pressure to 7bar .
Does anyone know why it is needing double the pressure ?

if he means it as his way of fixing it - I would change garage right away and never come back.... ever

He knows it's not fixed properly but it's the only way the car will run and drive somewhere near how it should.
At normal pressure it hardly drives, why would that be ?

I think I would want to get the injectors checked and then all the basics of fuel reg, timing etc. Does sound odd.

What car? If it's usually 3 BAR and he claims to have set it to 7 BAR, then the fuel pipe unions would probably explode. That or the fuel pump. And what sort of regulator would let you set 7 BAR anyway?

Sounds like he's talking out of his arse.

It's not a good idea to set it that high in any case, it must be running rich?

You need to get it to a specialist ASAP before serious damage occurs!
