Default which high pressure oil pump to fit?

Hi, i need some help..

At my rallycar now the 3. Cosworth HP oilpump is damaged..

The original Cosworth is not often to find at the moment, did anybody know what the best alternative will be? Burton, Oppliger, GGR, etc??

I would only go with the original as I had a aftermarket and a plug came out losing oil pressure and almost damaged my engine

Ive just fitted one from xpower race engines on eBay, I was impressed with the qaulity. I had fitted one from from brands hatch performance and didn't even take the car out the garage as the pressure build up was mega slow and crap so swapped it out for the new one and I'm happy.

Done a far bit off research into this over the last few days lol as im building a engine atm

Now goode sell the Burtons pump as do xpower

Julian Godrey sells the protech ones

Now according to Xpower the protech pump bodies were not heat treated and the same with Burtons when there was a fair few failures a few years ago but now the Burton pump is apparently is the best of the rest but is worth stripping and inspecting .

The other option is if yoiu are building a lump then get the oil jets fitted and either use a ybt pump or pinto

Piero assured me that he individually measured and assembled each pump, when I took the top lid off I was very impressed with the surface finish and the rotor, barrel and pump body where all perfectly the same height. Only think I didn't like was the hex head bolts that'd secure the lid couldn't be tightened with a socket as they were so close to one of the ribs on the lid. Cap screws would of been better.

What power are you aiming for Jay? What pump does Mark shead recommend?

I searched for ages Jay to find a good reputable pump, the problem is one person says one pump is good then you read someone else say the same pump is shit lol. I'm happy with my choice but that's a 2wd pump don't know what would be the best for 4x4 maybe oppliger ect.

Should be a handfull with that power then good luck.

I went with the protech pump when I did my rebuild,
as that was what was recommended to me then,
its in the car now 4 years or so and touch wood I ve had no problems ,
2wd car but ,
I think all the problems with any pumps seemed to be 4wd ones for some reason
