The passenger front seat in my car has started slowly reclining as i drive along. Its as if rattles itself down.

Not exacly a massive problem as you just wind it back up but it's annoying me.

I haven't had a chance to see exactly what the problem is but can anyone give me any tips? I assume something just needs tightening? Its seems to be getting worse?

Thanks

From what I've read, they tend to recline a bit even when new. I know I have to wind up the drivers seat up a bit occasionally. If anyone has any tips as to reducing the tendency, I'd be interested to hear as well.

It's not just me then!

The winder on the passenger seat is really lose, as if whatever holds it all together isn't tight enough.

I've had the car 11 years and its only started doing it recently.

I'll find the thread on the red car, cheers

Wow! I gotta look into this, can't believe it would be so simple! Then again, most things in life are, it just takes someone to figure them out first.

Well I've had a look and sure enough the fibre washer was in two pieces and had fallen out.

I found an o ring that looked suitable so have given that a go.

I bet the drivers seat is the same but you just dont notice it as it won't rattle down whilst sitting in it

Well after driving the car it appears to be sorted!

Can't believe it was so easy to sort, it's been annoying me for about 2 years!

For anyone else with this problem, this is the washer that falls out

If you remove the recliner knob, and plastic trim,

You need to remove the circlip and washer, and replace with an o'ring or similar
