t34 to the 2wd saphire
Hello,
What must be technically changed to adopt the t34 to the 2wd Saphire. Beside the injectors, chip, map sensor. Is the t34 water cooled like the t3? Must the BOV be changed?
I am running the engine in a Lotus Super Seven. Cossi YB Turbo 2WD Black Top engine, 200 block, stonger head gasket, Stage 1 Chip, Level 6 ECU IAW 045.06, Turbo garrett T3 compressor BCIA R42M27 95 A/R 42, turbine OH1-2 M4 A/R 57, blue injectors, wastegate actuator 430 099-18, (is this a -31 actuator?)
I am sure that this is not a new question, but i can't find the answer in the Forum. Thanks for your help.

Hi there
The biggest problem in 7 type cars is the cooling, before you start spending on all the power upgrades, make sure your rad and intercooler are up to it.
Do you have any pics of your current setup ?.
I had them made to fit the car.

Super Seven YB Cosworth, Black Top, T5 transmission.
Tanks for the quick response. That is a very good point. I do not had any cooling problems, but you are absolutely right, that this is a topic to pay attention to. See pictures below for current set up. My turbo is almost new. I can’t say if it has ball bearings or not. (I still have the invoice for the turbo, but can’t see what bearings they used).
However the engine is running a bit to rich. Black exhaust. Pick boost is about 1.3 bar reduces to 1.1bar at full throtle.
The Turbo seems to have a build in BOV, is this common on the T3 Saphire Turbos? (See picture).
Mayby I should stay with the T3 and fit a Stage 2 kit with dark greens giving 320 hp, it’s a light car and it is certainly not under powered. J But you can never have enough power (As long it stays controllable).

Not sure what turbo that is,a t34 compresser housing looks like it would be pretty tight in there.
Think you would have to borrow one and see if you could phisically get it in.
I had to change the intercooler when i changed from a t3 to t34.

Not normal
So you say my Turbo is not a standard Sapphire T3 Turbo?
Does anyone have the measurements of the T34? Or should I use a Gt28 or even a Brong Warner EFR as an option? If I have to modify the exhaust and airsystem anyway?
Thanks...

Wow
Wow looks really nice, is it also a Rush? It seems that you should not have any cooling problems 😉. I think the T34 should fit in my Seven, there is some space left to fill with a compressor 😃.
If my Turbo is not a standard T3, that may be the reason that the tune of my Stage 1 chip doesn't fit 100%. But I have a free programmable ECU custom build for the YB I will use in the future. What ECU are you running on yours?

its a t34.48
i had the rad and intercooler made to fit
i made a mockup out of wood celotex and gutter downpipe, then they copied it exactly

Thanks, yes indeed it looks more like a T25 but it has a T3 exhaust housing with the following numbers on it 48 E84 A/R 0,57 and on the compressor is written BCIA R42M27 95 A/R 42, the compressor housing seems to be from an T25/T28, because it has the internal BOV, but the turbine must be from a t3, with a 48 housing. A bit strange combination?!
I would be glad if someone could help telling me what turbo that is and if i am right that the turbine is a t3 48 and if i will be able to change the compressor to a t34 compressor.
Thanks
