Cavity
Hi all
Quick question whats best thing to to wax oil the cavitys on a saph cos? I've been looking at this?? Bilt Hamber Dynax S-50 Extreme Duty Anti-Corrosion Wax Or any other Recommendations would be grateful. |
I had the inner and out sills done on mine and filled the sills with oil mixed with diesel to thin it down sprayed the death out of it lol. Left it in the workshop for 4 days till it had all dripped out the seams. Then used a large can of bodyline cavity spray on each side
|
Surely you would want to spray the oil after doing that?!
It would stop the cavity wax sticking to the inside surfaces?!! |
The oil is to run down inside all the seams and gaps. The body shop told me it's the best thing to do as that's wear they start to rot. Wear water gets in the seams that cavity wax will not flow into
|
Cheers mate that 1 option, any others? As there seems to be loads different ways of doing this on the net?
I'd prefer tried & tested methods than just taking a chance on a off the shelf item..... |
I mixed waxoyl with old engine oil to thin it so it runs down into all the seams.
For the rear arches i just used old oil as it needs to be nice an thin to drip down from inside the boot area to the sill in front of the wheel. Again a bodyshop recommendation and worked a treat |
To get cavity wax in to hard to reach places you would put a attachment (thin pipe) on the end of your spray gun feed it up the place you are treating pull back in a rotory motion back out.
