215/40/17 tyres

Will they catch the arches on 17x7.5 ET37 alloys with koni struts lowered by 25mm?

Cheers

What car are you talking about? I have a 1990 2wd Sapphire with Koni shocks and Eibach lowered springs on the front and Bilstein shocks with the same springs on the back, 35mm lower than standard and even though all the arches have been rolled when I tried to fit 215/40/17s they touched the arches. Maybe you will be able to fit them as you are only 25mm lower but I have my doubts. I run 205/40 /17s and there is no problem with them clearing ok . Before you buy the tyres make sure they will clear your arches.
Cheers Richard.

There must be a difference between the 2wd and 4wd suspension set up to allow you to be able to fit the 215/40/17s without any clearance problems ?

fit perfect on my 2wd

I am suprised they do , have you lowered it and rolled the arches? When I tried fitting them on my 2wd they hit the arches even though I have had them rolled.

Maybe a wrong ET value? In my experience 215/40 17 should be fine, also on a lowered car.

Maybe because they were track day semi-slicks?

215/40/r17 don't rub on mine with totally standard arches.
