Default Clutch Issues

I've currertly got an AP 6 paddle fitted with a hydro conversion.
It's started to slip when it comes on boost in 3rd, 4th and 5th but doesn't slip at all when launching even hard or in 1st and 2nd.

I've got a brand new AP 4 Paddle clutch in the garage but does this sound like a cover plate issue rather than the friction plate?

Its my last round at Curborugh next saturday and i'll definatley need to be on boost in 3rd so I need to sort it out before then.

The car is running 550 bhp and 531 ft/lb of torque

Cheers Rich

Change the clutch.

I believe that the only pp what will take that much of torque is Sachs -765.
Or a multi plate.

edit. -765 does fit directly to the cossie flywheel. And does hold over 900Nm with good sinter.
With 8.4mm sinter you have to sink the pp to flywheel 1.2mm and with 9.3mm sinter 0.3mm etc.

Hi rich I've used a helix heavy duty cover and a ap 6 paddle plate , the cover has twin spring ,making the clamping pressure much higher . I have a hydraulic clutch and it feels heavier than before !

Can you just buy the Helix cover on it's own?

Whats it like to drive with though John?
Can you pull away nicely and does it being heavier become a problem in traffic?

If any one was going to use it with a clutch cable , I would say it would be really bad to drive . But if you have a hydraulic clutch then it's fine . It's not like on or off ! My master is a .625 maybe if I fitted a .700 it would be lighter

I also using HD Helix kit with std cable, and pedal was very hard till I put motor oil inside the clutch cable. Now it is very light and good to drive

Yet fitted the heavy duty Helix cover with the 4 paddle AP takes abit if getting used to but not as bad as you'd think.
And definatley no more slippage!
