200 block cosworth ?

200 block cosworth ?
in my mates garage today and came across a 200 block
he races stock cars and uses 205 blocks he bought this years ago by mistake its brand new
can any one shed any light on it ?
picture of the numbers stamped on it, he said its not cosworth

' if its a later 4wd block it will have 200 cast into the side. A genuine cosworth block had grade 2 or 3 bores, look near the distributor hole there will be 4 numbers, these are the gradings of the 4 bores so they should all be a 2 or a 3. '

Its a bore grade number took 20secs to find this on google.

come on boys its not for sale, if its a cossie block im getting it for mine to replace my 205 block (cheap ) if i can be arsed to do it lol, so for now its not for sale
i know about the numbers and bore grade it got 200 on the side is there any other way of telling if its a cossie block because my mate says it not

i would say your about to get bargin!! if its the same visually as your 205 block and has 200 on the side your in business
never heard of a non cossie 200 block.

As far as i know ALL 200 marked blocks are 4x4 Cosworth.
You have 205 blocks that can be pintos, 2wd cosworth and RS 500. There are also 202 blocks that are from Transit vans IIRC.

Pintos are actually 2.4 US engines, we just call them pintos the 205 block is used in 2wd cosworth and several other Fords. The RS500 had another type of block than the 200 and the 205. But I am not sure of the id number. They are not very good so that is why we use the 200 block. Better cooling etc.
It is worth a bit as long it is in good shape! If you are going to sell one then I am interested
