Default Talk to me about YB breathing please

Ive got me block on the engine stand all nicely rebuilt, but i want someone to educate me on what improvements i need to make on the breathing system. Currently its all standard which i understand is not good for a engine thats going to be 380 odd bhp.

Diagrams etc would be awesome. Thanks.

That power is possible on a standard engine but you will need a larger turbo, and injectors (you obviously have a decent HG as well?).

The standard exhaust cam is fine, but some change the inlet, but for what you want I would imagine you would be ok.

Martin I think he meant the engine is built for 380hp, but he doesn't know what to do breather wise?

For that sort of power, the Bailey kit will be fine, but better if you breathe from both sides of the block, and return to the sump

Correct

So in my case, add a breather pipe to the other side of the block which run up to the oil catcher? Can i buy a threaded adaptor to connect to a hose?

Add a return feed to the sump i assume below the oil level?

Do you guy recommend a trap door type sump baffle?

Engine spec as follows:

205 Block / Std Crank (std journals) / New Mahle shells / Std rods / ARP rod & main bolts / std 2wd pistons (pocketed) and new rings / rebuilt head inc Std valves & cams, new guides and seals / 4x4 plenum & rail and a spacer / greys / T34 escos turbo and -31 act / 4x4 water pump

Ill get some pics up when the dosh allows me to buy the HG and stud and nut set.

Not sure whether to run and 2wd or 4x4 manifold.

There is a 17(i think) bolt below the turbo in the block to breathe from, and the sump can be drilled, tapped and a fitting added to return the oil, or it can be returned to the sump plug if thats easier,

if you get a gated sump baffle and your engine is on an engine stand be careful if your fitting the sump with the engine upside down as the gates wont be where they should be when you roll it back over!

Bailey breather will be fine i've a similar spec with no issues
