Default strut brace for boa

doing a 24V swap into my sapphire looking at stiffening it up with some strutbraces, the only example i have seen is ade brannans from classicford its just been bent at rough angles has anyone got an example of a decent modded one.

The one you need mate is an omp one for a 2.9 xr4x4 as it bends around the abs servo then around the back of the plenum

Your have to raise the bonnet without a strut brace i would guess. The plenum on them is the size of a small power station! Good luck with that one.

With the omp brace you won't need to as it goes around the back of the plenum

make one yourself

or cross brace it to the rear of the bulkhead

or use them little plates to weld the strut tops to the inner wings

or make a square one that goes around the engine

lots of ways to do it, but nothing off the shelf will go over the top of the engine

BOB sits taller in the Sierra engine bay and has less room to get a strut brace in. Only way to get a brace on would be to mod an omp one and run it into the bulkhead area where the heater blower is. Or do the BOA and use an omp brace and it fits perfect apart from the abs resovoir being close

I run an omp cossie strut brace across the top of the plenum and all it needs is the bar raising up about an inch compared to the cossie. It's tight with the bonnet down but fits and It's better than an angled one. Will try and find a pic or I'll take one and post it up later.

BOA is always gonna be easier, but BOB's are easier to find these days but more hassle getting in to work:-(

The Tina is in a bad way after the smash so I reckon the decision has been made for me, will be dropping the BOA in the sapphire and building up either a pinto turbo or pintworth for the cortina over time, just need to settle on a gearbox choice to go in the sapphire behind the 24v what are people opinions on T5 versus hybrids etc ?
Cheers steve
