the badge is peeling up from the centre and my original thoughts were that it was simply a curved badge rather than a flat one

so what matts probably asking is are there different badges or should he use stronger glue

That's correct Dojj mate.. It's like the badge should be slightly shaped.

probably best to get a flat sticker you can peel off until you can get a definitive answer mate, you'll be forever going through badges otherwise

unless it's just the sun bending the badge with the heat?

The two badges I've bought have been brand new from Carparts express.

i had the same problem last week whilst restoring an rs500,
The brand new gen ford badge dosen't quite sit in the recess on the grill so i very very carefully fettled the left & right hand sides around the radius of the badge on a bench grinder but on an negative angle so it appeares untouched from front

When I fitted a new badge i didn't have any trouble at all, maybe the new old stock ones have distorted a bit with age, as mine was fitted about 15 years ago now and was bought from ford.

I've heard that the front ford badge is slightly different to the rear badge, so maybe this is why it doesn't sit right. I'm sure I heard it on the rs owners club site

Cheers Matthew

Mine didnt fit 100% correctly aswell. Fiddled a little bit on the back and made sure i've used really sticky tape so it doesnt come of.

the front badges are different to the rears, they are thinner and sit in the recess better. Most that are being sold these days are rears even though they are the same colour and size

I fitted an old set of badges to mine as i'd had them for a good few years stored and they measured 115x46mm (on back edge) as i have another couple here but used - mine fit in the recess perfectly
