Default breather hole in sump

hi having a big winged sump done have been told that it would be good to have a fitting for a breather return .HAS ANYONE GOT SOME ADVICE ON WHAT SIDE AND POSITION SUCH AS ABOVE OR BELOW THE OIL LINE.i WILL BE USING A BAILEY BREATHER POT .Neil sorry for the caps didnt look at my typing dont mean to shout lol

Breather return should be below the oil level. Position depends on where your breather is. Usualy have the return port close to the breather.

Where are you getting the sump from? Is it just big wing or has it got additional baffling in as well? I'm quite interested in getting one but it's hard to sift through all the valid info on the General Forum.

By the way, how the breather systems that are usually fitted on tuned Cosworths, differ from the standard item? I have 3 hoses coming from the block, to the breather can, which has a filter in it. Is this the way the aftermarket breathers are carried out?

Aftermarket eg a bailey type breathe from there and also optionally from the cam cover or the turbo side of the block too, thou unless you have a return fitted to the sump then you have too return at that point instead!
