Hi all enthusiasts,

I saw a thread on 2wd vs's 4wd cossies.

I own a 1.8 chasseuer with a 2.0 pinto engine. I want to know, if I can do a 4x4 conversion using the same motor? It's a 202 block. Has anybody heard of this rating since cossies are 200 & 205's from what I have read?

I would imagine I would have to change the gearbox, diff, uprate the brakes, suspension and also install the front diff assembly.

Can this be done while I gather cosworth 4x4 engine parts. I stay in SA so my only option its to import parts.

There are alot of mods I'm reading up on, but want to know more.

I don't own a cossie but hopefully one day I will even if my sapph is cosworth powered.

Yes i am tackling this again. Who would be able to tell me more about the 1.8 Chasseur models. Would the shell be simalar to the cosworth as im trying to replicate and transform into Cosworth 4x4 Spec.

I think a 4x4 cosworth gear box will fit in my sapph but i need dimensions on gearbox & diff spacing.

Still finding difficulties on aquiring low cost parts from the UK.

Biggest parts looking for at the moment is:

200 block only
4x4 sump cover and front & rear diff only.
complete 4x4 ABS Braking system
- 4x4 ABS loom
- 4x4 ECU
- Relays for loom
- Pump assembly
- Distribution valve block
- Reservoir
- Pipe clips for Hydraulic pipes
- Light for instrument panel
- BIS master cylinder.

4x4 Front & rear hubs & carriers
Rear 4x4 suspension trailing arms
rear 4x4 anti roll bar. (what size is this)
front 4x4 anti roll bar. (what size is this)

Im sure theres been a few guys that have done a 4x4 conversion. Advice guys?
