Intercooler fitting problem
Having just bought an Airtec 70mm RS500 style intercooler and a set of 3 standard hoses I notice that the inlet pipe for the I/C is not angled like the 4x4 I/C that I am taking out, as I have ordered standard hoses am I going to have a problem with the turbo to I/Cooler hose? Another concern is the fact that it looks real tight between the headlight body and the radiator. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine is angled .. Only Prob I had was I had to get new pipes to suit 70mm on i/c side and 60mm or whatever it is on turbo side as std hoses were too narrow to fit intercooler

I fitted one to my saph. The issue I have found is that you cannot change the full beam bulbs once it's in as the inter cooler sits too high and too close.

Never thought of that I guess you take out the grill and headlamp enough to change the bulb. Mine is worse than that as I have HID lights so have had to have extra wires coming out through the cap on the headlight unit.

Got it in now, tight sqeeze but it's there. My only regret is that I had to take out the air con and we have 33degC temps in Canada right now and going up next week, wish I knew more about air con so I could make it fit.

My intercooler is a Pace item, and it's on a 2wd saff. It's only the high beam bulbs that I have an issue with too. Not sure if you guys have 3 drs or saffs? Or if there is a difference?
To the OP, glad you got it sorted.

It's a 4x4 Saff tis hard to measure the difference in performance as I was going from 4x4 I/C to RS500 style and then we get a heat wave so haven't driven it in "normal"temps to see how much better it is. Bit unfair comparison I guess, could do with some of your rain if you can spare some.

Thought of that but don't know where to start as it looks as if there are no joints in the system presumably to limit the possibility of leaks. I think I have to learn the principles of air con along with all the do's and don'ts. I struck lucky today as I was working on a Mini Cooper S, opened the hood and there was the thinest air con condenser I had seen and about the right dimensions so will have to investigate putting that between my radiator and intercooler. It was about half an inch thick.
