What size tyres for 4x4 Saph?

Hi

Just got a set of 17" for my 4x4 Saph, but can't decide what size tyre to go for - 205/40/17 or 215/40/17.

What do you guys recommend?

Also, I'm thinking of Yoko AVS - anyone recommend anything better?

Cheers
Boon

The correct size for 4x4 saph is 215/40/17.

no it´s not standart wheel diameter are
205/50-15...... 1790mm
205/40-17.......1818mm
215/40-17.......1842mm

so the closest fit is the 205/40-17 but im driving on 215/40-17 on my sierra and theay fit fine. no problems. and theay are a littlebit softer ride.

thats strange

I was told by a m8 who is a tyre fitter, and Lepsons when I got my wheels refurbed that the correct size was 215/40/17.

Cheers,

If the 215/40/17 fit without any probs then I might as well get those.

both these sizes are correct as the205/215 is the width not the profile so both have same diameter it depends on wheel width you take standard tyre size and take off 5 on profile for every inch bigger

i run 215 on my rwd 205 bends the wheels to easy as there is not a lot off tyre and bf goodrich are very good run them on mine

you forget one thing mate.. 205/215 are in mm(millimeter) and 40 are in % that will say that on a 205mm wide thire, the side are 82mm high:

205x0,40=82mm high tyre sides

215x0,40=86mm high tyre sides.

not mutch i know.

and of course 17 are in inches

Thanks to all for posting..

Upshot seems to be that 215/40/17 fit without problems even though the 205/40/17 is a closer match to the original 205/50/15.

I should have said from the off that the car is lowered (about 25mm i think), and the wheelarches haven't been rolled (and i don't want them rolled)... bearing that in mind, 215/40/17 still the size to go for?

i have 215/40/17 in the summer, and 195/5015 in the winter :top:

Btw. My car is also lowered by yellow Koni's , and Apex (yellow) springs

No prob's at all :top:
