3 door ARE heated, at least they should be, my mk1 sierra gl had heated mirrors so can't see the 3 door not having heated.
There is a difference between the moulding that attaches it to the door, with some having a recess where a trim bead goes, but they do fit .

cheers for the replys guys,im after a drivers side mirror for my 3dr theres plenty on ebay but dont state weather there for the 3dr or not.

The difference really isn't noticeable unless you look for it, it has a step about 10mm wide l around the mirror bottom and side at the front, still the same color, on my gl it had std fit silver trim bit there, hence the recess.
I used to watch the water evaporating off the mirror when I put the heated rear screen on, as they were wire through that, trouble is it left spots all over the mirror glass so constantly had to clean it.

i'm with tabs on this one mk1 door mirrors where heater. i have four in the garage 2 from a 85 2.0iS and 2 from a 84 XR4i and you can clearly see the heater wires coming from the glass,

and as tabs has stated already mk1 and mk2 mirrors are not identical but the do fit each other

g10ens 17-06-2011 10:20 PM

They may well be heated on some models of 3dr sierra but I know that on my 3dr cosworth they are not heated.

if the mirrors are electrically operated from the joystick thing on the door then they should be heated glass.
the problem is that the heated glass was and still is very expensive compared to the non heated glass

I have just supplied a genuine ford HEATED wing mirror glass to one of my customers with a 3 dr cosworth....his ws original and specifically wanted me to find him a heated unit as they are now obsolete

R4N SS 18-06-2011 10:18 AM

They are heated - at least the ones on my moonstone 3dr were heated and I have several spares so if you need one pm me

martysmartie 18-06-2011 01:20 PM

I stand corrected, it does make sense they would be due to the trim level of the car.
