Isky double valve springs
As above I am after a set of ISKY double valve springs.Just wondered if anyone else has them fitted? Are they top quality, how much and where can i get a set from please?
What's the difference between these and having the head modified to take these and the double valve springs that need no head modification?
I hope u can help me out.
Many thanks.Lee.

Just a thought, my mate bought a nice ported head fitted Isky valve springs and next time we had it off it had started to crack around the valve seats we had it welded took them out, but he wasnt happy.
i bought a nice ported head aswell but the valve spring seats were machined down by about 2mm so the standard springs would be under less pressure, so i put Isky springs in and mines bin ok.
there are two reasons for fitting them, if you a getting valve bounce because you need to rev the engine higher, or you are using very high lift cams the springs would be coil bound so machine the seat down and now they are not strong enough so need uprating.
so i would only put them in if you have a good reason.
hope this helps

The logic was sound though every Cossie we had the head off had valve marks in the pistons, they must have been touching at some point. Uprated springs seemed like a good idea at the time.
I think the moral of the story is know the combined poundage of the springs are correct for the chosen spec of the head, beacause it is possible to have to much.
He sold the car ages ago, he has one of those Japanese thingy me jigs now... vevo... or somthing, but he was still moaning about that head last week.
