Fuel Pump Rewire - Relay Location?
I am about to rewire my fuel pump.
Where do you guys usually locate the relay for the new circuit? I wanted to put the new relay and the fuse in the engine bay for ease of access.
Only thing with that is then I'll have to run a wire back from the existing fuel pump + feed under the boot, back to the engine bay so I can use it to switch the new relay there AND still keep the trip switch in the boot.
Perhaps I could even mount the new relay next to the trip switch in the spare wheel well?
Thoughts?
Cheers!
Ben

Now you mention it, woke up the morning of drag racing at the track. Car wouldn't start!
How ripped I was contemplating the idea of not being able to race. Tried everything! Checked spark. No smell of fuel at the exhaust and the pump didn't seem to be priming. After half an hour or so I clicked! Hit the reset, started first time!
Turns out I banged it when taking out the spare wheel in my quest for weight reduction and it tripped.

Beware the fuel cut off was put there for a reason.
Even on my aftermarket ecu the pump circuit STILL goes through the cut out switch.
I mounted my relay on a relkay holder that is bolted behind the rear seat upright, in the boot area, looking at the supporting type sections towards the rear of the seat right at the top is a 8mm hole, the added advantage is if at a show etc, it's 20 seconds to pull the relay for abit of added "free" security.
