I'm putting big alloy calipers on the front of a Sapph and I need to move them out by a few mm. I see that AP kits come with shims to do this. Does anybody know if there's anything special about these or are they just large washers? Even better, does anybody have shims from an AP brake kit that they never used and would like to go to a good home

You could easily get some machined up if you get stuck.

They are simply good quality flat washers mate. A shim of metal sheet (alloy??) with holes drilled for the bolts would also do the job.
