Calipers to replace cosowrth 4 pot calipers on kit car
I have 13" wheels on my locost but I have cosworth calipers on at the moment and they're too big. Are there any calipers of comparable performance that can replace the sierra calipers I already have?

maybe mondeo mk3 or st170 capliers, there both the same just sometimes cheaper as some people dont realise they atre the same and so put an 'st' price tag on it.
or series 2 rsturbo calipers
metro turbo calipers may aslo be an option if it doesnt have to be ford, although im not sure on how effective these are
let us know what you do use when you put them on though

Any single piston sliding caliper, is going to lag way way behind a 4 pot in performance terms.
I don't at all think on a kit car that you would need 4 pots at all, a single piston sliding caliper would work fine, and be cheaper.
The metro 4 pots are quite good tbh, but you can get smaller 4 pots by people like HI SPEC.
Mondeo mk3 and ST170 calipers are out really as the ST is to fit a 300mm disc, as are the mk3, the series 2 rst are to fit a 260mm disc, but the s1 used 240mm, so is nearest, and these MIGHT go under 13" just, as the larger 260mm were used on xr4i with 14" wheels.

ow right i thought the calipers on the s2 and s1 were the same but they used xr4i discs and pad material
willwood do brake kits to fit minis, which usually have 13" wheels max, so maybe you could give them a call and they could advice a caliper to fit your car. i dont think these would be a direct replacement though

im aware wilwood do a caliper set that fits but being a student i am on a budget. I can save for them but that just puts other things on hold. Was hoping there was a decent set of calipers i could get from another car cheaper than the 300 wilwood want

no jut ford fitment i beleive, something like xr2 discs and calipers.
S1 discs and calipers may just squeeze in.
maybe ask the old skoolers what brakes they have under their 13" wheels and use that set up

Although you may be going fast, it is the weight more than anything that is the main problem, or not in your case, a decent single slider will be more than up to the weight of a kit car.

Sean,
I am looking for 4 pots for my series 2 rs turbo if your thinking about selling them, afraid i dont have what you need as a replacement though as running single pot escort cosworth items that just fit under the 15" wheels, have you tried the rsoc or series one turbo site?
When you find out what you need give me a shout as would be happy to help you track them down

The sooner I can find some the better. If you want these you can have them. I am not sure what to price them at though. That will be relative to what I see others go for and how much I am going to have to spend on a replacement
