Default Stuck headlamp washer motor sierra sapphire

Has anyone had experience of this problem - my windscreen washer reservoir bottle is constantly emptying itself via the headlamp washers, you can fill it to the brim and it empties itself within a few minutes, the motor seems to be stuck on permanently, even when all the water is gone the motor is still whining. We have tried taking out the relay and the fuse which controls the headlamp washers but even when we do this the damn thing will still not turn off! Any ideas please!!

Thanks

Jacosia

Take the plug off the pump and check wiring.

Obviously a in depth wiring fault if still going after pulling relay, the realy switches the live, so you need to take out relay and check what other live is feeding it, as there should be none between it's output (87) and the pump motor with it not in place, are you sure it is the correct relay you are taking out ?

I had this problem on my estate, went to use them one day, and then the headlamp washers carried on. Mine was caused by a stuck headlight wiper motor on the drivers side...

This is the thread i started when my played up...

Hope that helps, Ed.

just looking at a wireing diagram.the r/h motor controls the headlamp washer motor via internal contacts as it moves back and forth, but the power supplies are from different fuses. fuse 9 drives the wiper motors, and fuse 15 drives the headlamp washer pump as well as some other stuff.
as mentioned above, a stuck r/h wiper motor or welded contacts within this motor will allow constant power to the headlamp washer pump and an empty washer bottle ,
try pulling fuse 15 or take the connector off the washer pump on the bottle
