possibly your idle control valve. mine did it for a while, took the valve out gave it a good clean and it sorted the prob out.

With the engine running, plug out the icv. If the revs don't change, it's broken. Try to clean it or replace

It doubt it will be the ISCV if it's not runing on all cylinders, more likely a plug or lead, what i normally do is, with the engine running and bonnet open, disconnect and reconnect the leads one by one till you hear no difference, that will tell you which cylinder isn't firing, and like i said will most likely be a plug or lead.

incorrect imo,

if the revs dont change when you unplugg the iscv, it just means the base idle is at the correct speed.

Better still, take it off, it's only 2 screws, clean it up and wire it upto a battery (i think i just used a square 9V one like you find in a smoke alarm), it should click as it's just a solenoid, i had to do this with mine as the car sat for almost 2 years and it was stuck, put some WD40 on it and it was ok after 10mins.
