Changing The Valve Stem Seals
 
How easy are they to change?
Can you do them with the head on?

you can do it with the head on but very very tricky and does not leave much room for error, you'd be better off taking the head off IMO, give you a chance to check everything else is in order then

as above i would take the head off!but the actual job is easy enough to do!just done mine,got mine from fords and they were bloody expensive:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

wot is rong with them then as the valve gides are more than licklythe problem .....iv just sent 2 cosworth heads in to be reworked anb both of them the valve gides were shot .... 1 is a 4x4 escort coswoth and the uver a 3dr cosworth and on both of them the exsorst side was the werst . if you do pull the head of i think i would have it checked over...the place were iv tuck my heads to is down by star city .........all the best

heads seats and valves 0121 327 2232 if you do go down tell them the lad that bort the lats 2 cosworth heads in .. the 3dr 1 and the 4x4 escort 1 .. the 4x4 1 had all the valves ground all the seats cut new gides presher test light skim all cleand up we gave them the new seals all in £230 my head is stll there as my head is having a lot more work done to it
