Default oil pump...:(

hello,
i have just finished my saph and i was rolling with 3000rpm when the oil pump left me and destroyed anything.... arrow con rods wiseco pistons... i opened it today and i'm sending you some photos...







the oil pump i bought it new from U.K. and i heard and other friends that had problems with these pumps... Now i started rebuilding the engine from the beggining...
i want to hear your opinion for the oil pump! tell me where to buy and not have these problem again!

I don't know where to suggest offhand but I just had to write and say how terrible an experience this must be. I remember starting mine after a rebuild and worrying. Good for you for getting straight back into sorting it out!

There was something with Cosworth pumps, try a search in the General section mate.

Know andyg had a problem at some point,but cought it in time,my advice use a used pump that you know has done a few miles,but is 100% servicable

i'd be having words with the manufacturer and trying to blag the money for rebuild parts from them!

There have been others with similar problems, it's disgusting as the pump is not a hard part to get right, especially how these seem to fail.
I am so sorry for you, it's so bloody expensive as well, think I will will be refurbing my existing pump, not as cheap as a new pump as casing has to be machined as well as rotor.

yes i had a greddy oil pressure gauge i was controlling it when i was driving but it hasn't gave me any signal of low pressure... Everything happened in a sec!
here is a photo how it was before blowing....



i will post pics of the rebuild in a post on restoration section

what brand is it on the pump ? Was the engine cold when it happened ? I know the cosworth pumps flows alot of pressure on my engine so im extra careful when its cold or this might happen I think =)

That sort of failure must surely come under some form of warranty!! Its literally blown apart!

The picture of the broken conrod is not a arrow rod as you say but a stock rod.

Show us a picture of the oil pick up pipe as to me it looks like the Rod has broken and then struck the pipe breaking the pump.
