Default closed loop

Hi i just wonder if the closed loop softwear can be fitted diy or is it a pro job? i have a red top 4x4 saff cos and she seems to be overfueling a bit on idle and overrun, it has just past an mot so maybe not too bad.
I have a collins stg3 chip and b board, greens 3bar map sens grpA cone filter, coil and fuel pump. The car runs great and pulls rite thro, its just it dumps a bit of fuel smoke out exh when slowing down.
My engine loom has the plug for the lambda sens so could i plug into this and fit the softwear to ecu?
Cheers steve.
