Default Rewiring fuel pump

One of the issues mentioned at the set-up at MSD was the voltage drop at the pump.

I've been told to cure this i need to run a fresh lead/wire from the back of the fuse box to the pump and a fresh earth is this all that needs doing?? and what thickness is currect for the amount of voltage needed??

Thanks

If it were me I would run a new live wire/relay from the front to rear for the live, using original wire as trigger for said relay, then earth the pump inside the car somewhere at the rear as there is plenty of areas to get a good earth here, even if it means drilling a hole and using nut and bolt to hold terminal, as it can be easily hidden.

I would use either 28/030 or 32/020 thinwall.
