Default HUBS - 3dr/2wd/4x4 what's the difference?

Had some 2nd hand hubs fitted a while back, just want to check I was fitted with the right ones. What are the differences between the 3dr hubs and Saff? Are RWD and 4x4 Saff the same or different? etc.

Thanks in advance

I have been told that there is a difference between the 3dr and 2wd saph front hubs. Its something to do with the lenght/height/angle of the hole for the TCA's and the pivot arm for the steering rack.
I think Mike rainbird noted it on a post a while back.
The diff between all 2wd and 4wd front hubs is the offset, rears are the same as far as i know.

Someone else should be along pretty soon with a better explanation and to correct me no doubt .

easy way to tell between 2wd and 3dr hubs.

2wd hubs use a pinch bolt system for the TCA joint. (so the bottom part is split)
3dr hubs use a castle nut for the TCA (so bottom part is solid)
4wd hubs will have a different drive flange as they need a drive shaft to go in them, so its pretty damn obvious if they have

Hope this helps.

And the RS500 front hubs have a lower TCA mount point, it helps keep them aligned correctly when they are in running trim. It is quite noticable if you have two side by side.

I have one of each here... roll centres are different... I didn't think there was any difference either till one day I found out and so I hunted and found these. I can double check with a friend he has both 500 and normal RS... if I see both cars together I can check them out...

Interesting - have just been through the complete Unique Service Parts list and subsequent Technical Bulletins and found no reference - any chance of a pic mate?
