Default AP Paddle Clutch

I have just had the motor rebuilt and my existing ap racing 4 paddle clutch and cover put back. I told the tuner that if it looked too worn to just replace it. He said it looked fine with lots of life left and put it back in.

It has now started to slip and the motor has only done 3k since rebuild !!!

I haven't been abusing it that much, can a clutch wear this quickly ???

cheers,

paul

Have heard that a few have worn rather too fast.

Don't know why though.

maybe it's not worn, it's just slipping because you're trying to put too much torque through it? you haven't said what spec. you're running?

Thanks for the replies guys,

At the mo its only running stage 1, i've now got it booked in to get an Alcon 6 paddle fitted. I've been told that the plate may be fine but the springs in the cover may be gone and not providing enough clamping load onto the plate.

cheers,

paul

Possibly, stage 1 should be fine as a standard plate works on a stage 2/3, well for a while anyway

You gonna be doing engine mods later on?! cos a 6paddle is a bit ott for a stage 1 conversion

I had sort of planned to ??? but I have been advise that the Alcon 6 paddle is the only way to go. I'm told it has a very light pedal even with the heavy duty cover !!!

Anyone got any views???? Will it be juddery on a stage 1 set up ???

Alcon 6 paddle is an outstanding clutch, standard clutches are fine even on 330bhp they just don't last that long lol
