4x4 wheel offset....
#5
One thing to watch mate, if you put wheels less than ET 40 on your 4x4 you will need to fit spacer plates to clear the calipers, i have recently fitted a set of 17 inch RS 7 Spokes to my 4x4 saf cossie, they are ET 38 and i had to fit 3mm spacer plates to stop the cailpers rubbing the inside of the wheel . Original ford lattice alloys are 40 mm offset so that says it all really , better to stay as close to factory offset as is possible

Keep yer hair on m8, your probably right , i was only trying to prevent the guy having the same embarassing thing happen to him as happened to me........I was also told that ET35-40 would fit straight on my saf so i bought the wheels and had new tyres fitted at a local garage, when the tyre fitters went to put the new rims on my cossie they wouldn't fit .....and i didn't have any spacers handy because i assumed i wouldn't need them felt a right tw4t as you can imagine, worst bit was that the only place near to me that sells wheel spacers is 30 fooookin mile away Fooooookin nightmare

ON THE SUBJECT OF WHEELS. . .
Ok guys whilst on the discussion of wheels on 4x4 cossies, i want to know if those 16" mk2 mondeo zetec alloys (slim escort cossie) will fit straight on to my 92 sapphire cosworth cos ive heard different stories that they will & they won't. Seen plenty cossies with them on but do they have spacers on??
thanks
Phil
P.S. No argueing this time guys!

They in they should by rights go straight on but as above you never know, best finding someone on here who has tried and tested them
Plater,
we always find alloys that slightley bend in (concave) cause problems with caliper catching
No more head banging
