Removing Door Mouldings
What's the best way to remove the side strips from the doors and front wing? Just carefully peel them off, heat them up?... any suggestions?
Mine are very good so don't want to break them if possible!!! |
are you painting the wings
|
get hold of a cheese wire (a spatula/fish slice works well) will not damage the paint or the trim
then get a toffee wheel to remove the trim tape from the paint |
And then hope that you have not got screwholes behind as some models (non-Cossie) had moulding that were screwed on and the doors are not Cossie-specific.

The trade also use a glue remover that doesn't harm the paint - just softens the glue. Made taking mine off a pice of cake... used the wire method.

I used a length of mig wire, worked a treat :top:

i used fishing wire to remove from the car, then soakedthe tape in autoglym tar remover and left it for 5 min, then it literally peels back in one go  came off nice and straight and then sold them to DAN off of here.he was well happy with them.
