Default Different Sized Tyres

Is it possible to use 225/35/17 tyres on the back and 205/40/17's on the front of a 4x4 sapphire or will this bugger up the diff etc?

Cheers,
Pete.

On a 4x4 it puts a lot of pressure on the diffs if the tyres dont have the same rolling radius.

Why not put the 225/35 all round and issue goes away.

I have these on my 2wd.

I'm just being stingy with the cash as i have two good 205/40/17's on at the moment and the other two have cracked sidewalls with it sitting on flat tyres over winter.

Looks like i'll just bite the bullet and buy four!

Thanks for your replies

235 35 17 will give you exactly the same rolling diameter

I would personally use four the same size, so wear rate will hopefully be more even as well then.
